2014 Season #2 (2014B) beginning August 2014
Accepting new drivers: All iRacers with D-1.0 through A-4.99 are eligible to apply and race at AMS. 2014 Season #2 (2014B) will start August 19th-21st with the Shootouts (non-points). The first week of points racing starts with the Daytona races August 26th-28th. All drivers, new and old, are eligible to race in the Shootouts. Also note The Indy series will be our 3rd tier series with the Trucks being our 2nd tier series and The Cup Series still holding the flag for the main series. A couple of rule changes for this season are: -If you choose to pit under caution, you must pit before "Two To Green". This will give lap down cars a chance to get the automatic waveby as long as no lead lap cars are in front of them. Of course if you pit before "Two To Green" and then pit again, (to get damage repaired or for whatever reason) there will be no penalty. -The elimination of rules 39 through 40.1 - eol's etc. for causing cautions. These rules were originally put in place for very good reasons and if eliminated, can be re-instated at anytime if deemed necessary. The Truck, IndyCar and Cup Series will continue to be run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Truck Series (Tuesdays) and IndyCar Series (Wednesdays) rooms open by 9:00pm ET, Qualifying at 9:20pm ET Thursday nights Cup Series rooms will open at 7:20pm ET to give drivers a full 2 hours of practice. Qualifying will still be at 9:20pm ET. Just like last season, 2014 Season #2 races will have 1 fast repair per race - Cup & Trucks. To help keep The Indy Car Series our mid-week fun series, we will have 3 fast repairs per race. We may adjust that as the season progresses. For the Truck Series and Indycar Series, we will continue to use iRacing's default weather for ALL races. fixed setups, 70% fuel For the Cup Series, we will be using "Realistic Weather". open setups |
